Roger Schmidt

Roger was loaned an electric guitar for a high school lip sync performance when he was fifteen.  After accidentally striking a few chords, he was hooked and never looked back.  Growing up on the outskirts of a small town called Hope, there was never much to do so making music was a good way to pass the time.  He left small town life for the Greater Vancouver area.  In 2007, he was the winner of the Coquitlam Idol contest.  After winning a spot in the BC Talent Search competition, Roger placed 6th out of 18 provincial finalists held at Mountainfest 2008.  To further his musical endeavours, he was schooled in vocal technique at the Shadbolt Academy of Arts and in country guitar by Mitch Merrett.

His quirky lyrical style is closely compared to that of his biggest influence, Brad Paisley.  On stage, Roger is a dynamic performer that will draw in a crowd and have them clapping and tapping along to his melodies in motion.
